About Me:
Many people wanted soap flakes in the US but could not find them so I started MSO Distributing and began importing Soap Flakes from a company in England. That was in 2002. Little did I know at the time, there were so many uses for soap flakes. Neither did I know then, plain pure soap was so important to so many people. Or that homemade cleaning recipes and cleaning ingredients information was...exciting? A passion? It is for some.

Then, the "green cleaning" thing took off and there were even more questions about simple cleaning ingredients and my typing fingers got tired of writing emails one-on-one that only one person could see. So I thought, "Hey, why don't I start a network, so aficionados can gather and help each other out?"

Recently we've starting stocking another simple 150+ year-old multi-purpose product--soda crystals. There are many uses for soda crystals too...all the more reason to have a home for all the related information...

So, here it is, please join in, and let's see what happens...

However, Soda Crystals, also know as Washing Soda, are f… Continue

Living with limescale

I came across the following blog post about a guy contending with limescale.

Some people probably do not even know what limescale is.

The following post by Dave Gorman, rather than being technical, gives a personal account of what it is like to live with limescale. (Hint: what helps him a bit is Soda Crystals!)

Price increases

It's one of those facts of life things. Rising prices.

We've just raised the price of Soap Flakes and have also passed along some recent shipping increases as well...

Soap Flakes prices haven't changed since 2004. And believe me, costs for almost everything related to our business have gone up.

In the past, we've passed along shipping cost increases to reflect higher postage and shipping rates, which as you may know, the carriers adjust each year.

There is yet another postal rate incr… Continue

Thank you for the warm welcome. As soon as we got our power back yesterday I made a batch of laundry soap! Used a combo of my soap scraps, soap flakes, borax and washing soda. Been washing all day...just love the results.
The farm is a very special place to us...and the dog is lucky he is cute, because he sure is a pistol!!
